The launcher is a native Rust app, not an Electron clone for every product. Apps run as lightweight web modules inside one shell.
Every app ships as a .ste package — AES-256-GCM encrypted, Ed25519 signed, bound to your machine. Change one byte and it refuses to run.
DMs use device-generated keys (ECDH P-256 → AES-GCM). Keys never leave your device — the server physically cannot read your messages.
SteCloud runs on real hardware the owner controls, reached through an encrypted tunnel — no open ports, no rented racks, no data mining.
AI agents call the models through our node — provider keys never touch your device, and usage is metered per account. No key leaks, no surprise bills.

A sealed app cartridge: encrypted (AES-256-GCM), signed (Ed25519) and bound to your machine. The launcher verifies and decrypts it in memory — tampered or copied packages are useless bricks.
Chats sync through an encrypted backend with row-level isolation; E2EE DM content is unreadable by any server. Files live on the SteCloud node — physical hardware the owner controls, not a hyperscaler bucket.
